Our life as poor college students has limited our ability to have very many nice things. When Jason and I were first married, our first couch was purchased from the DI (a thrift store) for $35. Without our brown couch cover that we got as a wedding gift, the couch was - to put it in Jason's words - absolutely hideous. Not to mention it was extremely uncomfortable (it hurt to sit for very long) and was too short for either of us to nap on.
When friends from our ward were moving out they decided to give away their couch to anyone willing to take it. Given the state of our couch I jumped on it hoping that it would be at least more comfortable and we returned Couch #1 back to the DI. Luckily Couch #2 was far more comfortable to sit on (you were practically sucked into the seat cushions), but had really high arm rests that did not lend well to napping. Once Austin was born, we found ourselves taking the opportunity to sleep whenever he would and sometimes that involved letting him sleep on our tummies.

Couch #2
Given Jason's height, it was really hard for him to do this on the couch so we decided to save up and purchase our first non-previously-owned-couch. We bought it on October 23, 2012 from Ashley Furniture for dirt cheap (as far as new couches go) and have been extremely pleased with it ever since!
