July 31 - Aug 11 Part 2: Back to Normal Adventures

Part 2

Back to Normal: Logan

Once we got back to Logan, things resumed back to normal for the most part. Here is a quick chronological outline of the last week and a half or so (because we know you all missed knowing all the little details of our life...) :

Friday I had my 5-year high school reunion in Sandy which I chose to go to primarily to see my friend Lindsay who was in town from California (we weren't able to meet up while we were out there) who is expecting and I am super excited about it! It was great to catch up with so many others as well.

Monday we drove our CR-V to the shop to get the cambers replaced and wheels aligned, thanks to my dad finding the uneven wear on the tires. Later that evening (after picking up our car) we were able to do a Family Home Evening at our Bishop's home with some of the other couples from the Relief Society and Elder's Quorum presidencies in our ward.

Tuesday we took Izzy in to be spayed. We felt bad doing that to her, but are grateful that the surgery went well. She was very groggy and appeared to be a bit sore that first day, but since  then (after one pain pill the following day) she has been her normal, super happy, ΓΌber hyper self.

Wednesday we had a typical day and that evening went to our church for interviews to renew our temple recommends. It is such a blessing to be able to have a temple so close and attend on a regular basis.

Thursday we went to another First Birthday party for a little girl named Adelaide. It was definitely a hit for Austin as there were many other little kids and activity stations where Austin was able to play with wads of newspaper and wooden balls, "oobleck" (1:2 ratio of cornstarch to water which results in a non-Newtonian fluid), and sand (actually flour mixed with baby oil) - he especially liked the sand - I think California made an impression on him.

Friday included a date night at the county fair during which we made sure to check out the 4-H exhibits, booths, food, and music. Austin seemed to rather enjoy seeing so many people in one place.

Saturday was the race! Jason's dad came up to watch Austin and we picked up our friends, the Huffmans, and drove out to Tremonton for our first 5K in a series of races which will result in Jason doing an Ironman (see Jason's blog for more info on that and for more pictures!). It was loads of fun getting wet via sprinklers, water guns, buckets of water, and a cannonball into a lake at the end of the race. We were also able to spend some time with Jason's dad the rest of the day and he and Jason were able to go on a motorcycle ride up to Hardware Ranch up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. It was great to have him come visit.

Till next time... adventures away!
