Austin was a SUPER STAR Sunday! He got to participate in his first Primary Program where nursery-aged kids get to share what they learned at church. Normally they only
allow kids that are 18-months to 3-years old to be part of nursery, but since
there are currently only two eligible kids, Austin was invited to participate
in the program because his 18-month birthday falls before the end of the year.
Unfortunately about 30 seconds before the program started, Austin was out like a light. Nothing we did would wake him so I carried him up and read each of his parts and sang the songs while holding him hoping that at some point he would wake up. Fortunately he did wake up for the last two songs, but during one of them he started screaming because he saw Jason out in the audience, but couldn't see me even though I was standing behind him. The whole ordeal was super funny and the congregation rather enjoyed it as well.
Other than that, it
feels like not a whole lot has been going on lately... other than school, work,
and taking care of Austin of course. We have definitely been living up college
football though - especially Jason. A couple weeks ago was the USU vs. BYU
football game up here in Logan. Jason had to camp out and freeze his butt off
(yes it did snow) along with thousands of other students to get a guaranteed seat
at the game. Apparently my sister was also able to make it into the game
without camping out, but she was probably one of the last 200 that got in.

Also, Jason was recently
invited to take part in a podcast radio show called "Rock Jocks"
which reports on football and basketball in the Mountain West Conference. The
show is nearly an hour long and contains only audio, but you're welcome to
check it out here:
Even though there are
only a handful of views on YouTube, the podcast actually gets around 4,000
views each show and they're looking to bring Jason on as a full-time host and
we're pretty excited about that.
On October 6th, Jason
and I ran more races! We drove down to Herriman where Jason completed a 10K (in
just over an hour) while I ran the 5K (in 36 minutes) for the Operation
61 cause.

Afterwards we hung out
with my family and watched General Conference
which was AWESOME this year. Our next races will take place in a couple of
months - I'm going to keep doing 5K's with the intent of improving my time
while Jason is increasing his distance each time while he works towards doing
an Iron Man in 2016. Jason will be doing a half-marathon in early January down
in St. George and for my next 5K, on December 7th I'll be doing the Santa Run in Provo during which I get to wear a
Santa suit (provided as part of registration) - how cool is that?! If anyone
is interested in running with either of us, be sure to let me know!
This week we also got
ready for Halloween. Austin has some schnazzy Halloween pajamas,
got his own little decorative pumpkin (which he likes to chew on),
and for family home evening we picked pumpkins to carve.
Now for a few Austin
updates:
- He can now say "Stars," because of all the
little glow-in-the-dark stars he has all over his room thanks to Grandma
and Grandpa Hunter and Aunt Alisa, Emily, and Marissa who sent them for
his birthday.
- He now licks my face, because he thinks it's funny. I
let him, because it's so cute when he laughs, but it's probably not the
best behavior to be promoting right now.
- Whenever he has access to one of us lying down
(including Izzy-dog) he will sit on us and bounce up and down... also
because he thinks it's funny.
- He now has 14 TEETH! Four more just popped through over
the last few weeks.
- He said his name! Well, he said, "Aus," but
that's close enough. He typically won't say anything on command, but when
in front of the pulpit microphone (which he loves to talk into) he said
it!
- He was finally willing to try Jello... and liked it!
I'm a big fan of Jello (Jason doesn't like it) so that was cool for me.
- Lastly, he has learned how to kick a ball! I know his soccer-loving grandpas will be proud.
Until next time, have
some great adventures of your own!

DeleteHey guess what? My best friend Cami's husband also does the Rock Jocks podcast. :) his name is Preston Croshaw. :) its fun that both you and her have the same name and your hubbys work at the same job haha.
ReplyDeleteThat is so random! I've heard of Preston, but not that his wife's name is Cami too :)
